The Red Devils Set to Secure German Striker Lea Schüller from Bayern Munich

Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing for prolific German forward Lea Schüller in a permanent move away from the Frauen-Bundesliga champions.

A Major Signing for the WSL Side

Schüller, who has half a year remaining on her deal, has been a prolific goalscorer for both club and country. Having netted over 100 goals for the German giants and found the net 54 times in 82 caps for her country. This signing will be seen as a major coup for the Women’s Super League side.

Departure from Bayern has been anticipated after she appeared to be fighting back tears while thanking the club's fans after a win over Bayer Leverkusen recently.

Reports in December that the Frauen-Bundesliga was set to lose one of its top forwards. Per reports, all the paperwork for the move are now finalised.

Consistent Goalscoring to Boost United's Forward Line

The 28-year-old’s arrival should represent a significant uplift to the team's forward line. Schüller has been highly reliable with her finishing in Germany’s top flight.

• Over seven consecutive seasons, up to and including the last term, she achieved at least a double-figures tally of league goals.
• She won the Golden Boot in 2021-22 season with a haul of 16 goals.

Securing Schüller’s signature comes at a time when the club appear to be building positive momentum.

Recent performances feature qualifying for the Champions League knockout phase playoffs in a seeded position and a win in the League Cup quarter-finals.

1. The acquisition of Swedish right-back Hanna Lundkvist on a multi-year deal.
2. The new deal for Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa, a popular figure since joining in 2023.
