The Eurovision Song Contest Was Traditionally a Whimsical Delight – However It Has Transformed Into a Calculated Tool to Sanitize Conflict.

Eurovision marks seven decades next year – nearly twice the average life expectancy of someone in Gaza today. The show may go on, but it will find it impossible to reclaim the whimsical pleasure it historically embodied. A competition that was originally built on harmony has now become a blatant mechanism to whitewash war.
