Previous BBC Consultants Participate in Parliamentary Grilling After Assertions of Prejudice in Leaked Document

Previous British Broadcasting Corporation advisers testifying before Members of Parliament

We begin with inquiries from Conservative MP the panel's head, who leads the committee.

She commences by offering background to the leaked document authored by Michael Prescott and published in a national newspaper.

"It is not my wish for the BBC slanting in any particular direction, I just want it straight, unbiased and just," he says.

Upon being questioned if he considers the BBC is systematically partial, he answers: "No, I do not. It is important to note, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation creates is top-tier - both factual and fictional content."

However, he continues: "There remains substantial tasks that must be undertaken at the British Broadcasting Corporation."

A further ex-adviser BBC adviser examined by the committee, Caroline Daniel, remarks she views the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it has a "continuous process and active debate" regarding fluid and multifaceted topics.

"Whether the BBC was prepared to conduct a genuine discussion and debate and implement changes?" she questions. "In my view, indeed, they were."
