Emails Reveal Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bannon Relationship

In November 2018, Steve Bannon, previously a top aide to Donald Trump, was in the UK to deliver a address at the Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by hundreds of protesters, and Bannon, who was due to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists delayed speech I doubt I can catch the plane we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "That. Is a gulf air departing at 950 with a layover in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an amazing assistant".

These messages were released on Wednesday together with over 20,000 documents from the estate of Epstein, the deceased convicted sex offender.

The release by the Congressional committee includes an text conversation where Bannon's identity is redacted. The BBC has been able to confirm his involvement by matching the timeline, events, and locations referenced.

For instance, Epstein discusses arranging a jet from Scotland for the redacted user in the messages, and offers praise their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the Edinburgh conference on November 14, and gave the talk at the Oxford Union on November 16.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, declined to comment on the inquiry.

'I'll make sure you're well looked after'

Bannon was one of the president's key advisers in the lead-up to the presidential election and during the initial phase of his first administration, but stepped down from the administration in August 2017.

He has admitted he was making a film about Epstein prior to his passing and allegedly has approximately 15 hours of recordings. In a recording of his podcast earlier this year, he stated: "We're going to release the series, the five-part series, in the coming year - at the start of next year."

But the newly released documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile occasionally seeming to act like a personal assistant.

A few days prior to the exchange in which Epstein appeared to have booked a private plane for Bannon, Epstein said: "what's it like to have the most highly paid booking agent in history ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are pretty good assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a visit to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you're well looked after."

British Affairs Mentioned in Exchanges

The released messages also reveal Bannon and Epstein talking about British political matters in that year.

Earlier on the day of his speech at the Oxford Union, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the EU exit thing this morning with Nigel, Boris and Mogg."

Then, in what seems like a allusion to the UK prime minister, the struggling British leader at the time, he added: "They are trying to move on. May today / tomorrow…"

Epstein suggested Bannon: "I think remaining as long as you can in the UK. Ideal- so others get the commitment of your follow through."

Shortly after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa may remain in power". Bannon answered: "It seems unlikely BUT the people over here have no balls" and added "Boris ; Michael Gove; Jacob Rees-Mogg; David Davis - someone has to step up".

May was finally toppled in 2019 after surviving multiple attempts of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told media: "Farage has never been in a gathering with Bannon, Jacob Rees Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter occurred.

The US House of Representatives will decide next week on whether the justice department should make public all its files concerning its investigation into Epstein, who passed away in jail in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was reignited recently after the release of more than 20,000 documents from his estate.
