Everyday tennis enthusiasts are being offered the chance to win one million Australian dollars when they compete against world-class athletes - including leading player Carlos Alcaraz - in a winner-takes-all point before January's Australian Open

Organizers of the Melbourne major have revealed the Million Dollar One Point Slam, which will match everyday competitors against top-ranked players in a knockout tournament at the Australian Open venue

How the Competition Operates

Competitors are set to play 'rock, paper, scissors' to decide who gets to serve or return, and the player who wins the point will move forward to the following stage

The winner of the event will earn £490,000

For comparison, players who reached the final four of the primary tournaments in the 2025 Australian Open won over a million Australian dollars
